Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch
During 2018 the Neighbourhood Watch (NW) scheme has been relaunched within the village. Activities are now being coordinated by Gary Birch who can be contacted with any urgent NW matters on his mobile number 07961 660392.
The aim of the scheme is to engage with all villagers regarding risks, suspicious activity and criminal activity affecting the area. We ask every villager to ensure that any observations of suspicious activity or information that they have is made available to Gary for wider circulation as appropriate. The circulation of information will be made on the village email list and if you wish to be added to this then please click here to email the clerk to the Parish Meeting. By being part of this list you will also receive notifications, agendas and minutes of the Parish Meetings.
A NW news letter was produced and delivered to every household within the village earlier this year, including a NW window sticker to be displayed at your home. More window stickers are available if needed. In addition new larger NW signs have been placed prominently throughout the village and also on the approaching roads to the village.
In addition, Gary receives regular information from the local NW Police coordinator of criminal activity in the area which again he will circulate as necessary. Regular updates on NW are always provided at the regular village Parish Meetings.
In order to improve communications, there are two WhatsApp groups called ‘Frolesworth Noticeboard’ and ‘Neighbourhood Watch’. To be added to these groups, villagers must contact Gary on 07961 660392 who will, in the first instance verify that you are part of the village community. Accepted outsiders will be agreed as an exception, for example the police but essentially only villagers will have access. Gary receives regular information regarding issues being experienced in neighbouring villages, such as Broughton Astley and is therefore able to circulate this information quickly if it is likely to affect Frolesworth village. Villagers who join the group are encouraged to share their concerns on potential criminal activity in the village by adding a comment directly to the group page. Villagers who don’t have WhatsApp, are encouraged to contact Gary who will post a comment on your behalf.
With all of this combined effort of all villagers we hope that in turn this makes everyone of us more aware of our surroundings, having a positive effect ensuring Frolesworth remains a safe and pleasant place to live.
